This photographic project was born from the desire to explore the Arno River — a space suspended in time, where human presence and nature coexist in a fragile balance. By following the river’s course, I learned to slow down, to listen: its irregular rhythm — sometimes slow, sometimes impetuous — taught me a different way of observing and photographing. The black and white images evoke a dreamlike, rarefied dimension, where the boundaries between reality and perception, between city and nature, past and present, dissolve. The river does not flow through untouched nature: it is confined, watched over, yet it continues to shift, to reclaim space. Through landscapes, small details, and spontaneous moments along its banks, this work investigates a delicate and ever-changing coexistence between man and environment. It is not merely a visual narrative, but a sensory and meditative reflection. In a time when our relationship with the environment is more critical than ever, this project offers itself not only as a trace and a memory of our presence but also as a mirror. It asks to look at ourselves from the outside and to question the mark we leave behind.
